Here's How Your New Horse Beads are made...

After many months of research and experimentation, we developed a unique design approach, which means you can enjoy a high quality and distinctive set of rhythm beads - your set will be a unique to you and your horse  

Unlike the the "jingle" type bells generally used in rhythm beads, we have sourced beautiful, fair-trade, Indian brass bells with a lovely musical tone; small in size, just 10mm on average, they sit elegantly on each set of beads, we use three to five bells for a soothing, gentle sound that both you and your horse will enjoy, and will really help with rhythm and relaxation. We do supply sets without bells if you would prefer to have a purely decorative set

Rather than the cheap plastic beads used in ordinary rhythm beads, each set features a variety of fair-trade, handmade, wooden beads from India. You can select a natural set, or you can choose your favourite colour; the coloured wooden beads come from both from India and the UK, coloured sets use two or three different shades.  A small number of metal beads provide some subtle shine and highlights.  

For safety, the beads are threaded on strong waxed cord for longevity, but with a breaking strain of around 30lbs, they will break in an emergency. Each set is finished neatly with a small crocodile clip - fastening this to your horse's mane ensures your beads won't fall over the head. Although we have not yet found a horse that was worried, we suggest that you introduce your horse gradually, and of course, horses should not left be unattended whilst wearing their beads

Taking inspiration from the traditional aspect of horse beads, and to really finish off your set, we include a Hematite tumble bead, and one or two polished, round Hematite beads. Although we were told by numerous companies that it was impossible to source crystals with a large enough hole, we are glad we persisted! Hematite is associated with relationship building, and with the following metaphysical properties; calms emotions, harmonises mind, body and spirit, dissolves negativity, promotes endurance and courage.

Jane is in charge of production. With extensive training, and a life-long interest in floristry and arts and crafts over a 30 year period, Jane has that natural, creative flair needed for these beautiful hand crafted pieces.

Her attention to detail ensures that each set of rhythm beads is made to the highest possible standards. Although she no longer rides, Jane was brought up around horses, and owned an ex polo pony called Astra, here she is on the right with her sister doing one of those things that only kids are brave enough for!

General day to day admin, stock, marketing and web design is managed by Fleur, a Natural Horsemanship student, with a love of Dressage who is proudly owned by a very challenging Haflinger x Quarter Horse mare - Guiditta, and a miniature horse called Lightning.
